                                                 A Lesson from a Terrorist
By looking at the title some people may be concerned. However, I think that there are life lessons to be learned from all sorts of people. We could learn the true meaning of patience from a women in Africa who walks miles to get her water every day, or we could learn how to face challenges from a Canadian Nomad who broke family  tradition to go to college. There are literally thousands of things that we can learn from our fellow man (and yes, even a terrorist). The lesson that I learned from a terrorist actually came from a movie that I watched. This past weekend I watched Survivor.
This movie came out in 2015 and is currently on Netflix. In this movie a US Embassy worker in England Kate comes across some suspicious visa applications. She immediately does more investigation and before she knows it there is an assassin after her. While trying to stay alive Kate also is having to figure out what is going on with the Visa Applications and what those applicants plan to do once in the United States. Kate is framed for various crimes. England and the United States have ordered their law enforcement agencies to immediately kill Kate if she is seen. Kate puts together the pieces of the suspicious Visas and uncovers a terror plot. Kate is able to sneak back into the United States and stop the terror plot before it unfolds. I did skip a lot of details so the movie isn’t spoiled.

The whole world is against her and she is determined to get to her greater mission.
There is a lesson to be learned from Kate, the terror plot, and the assassin. Even though Kate knows that someone is trying to kill her she is determined to find out the true intentions of the original Visa Applicants. There is a clever assassin after Kate, and I am sure that Kate could have given up. She could have raised her white flag and let the assassin kill her. However Kate made the choice to keep going, to not give up, and to keep pushing forward. By deciding to keep going even when the world was literally hunting her, Kate was able to save millions of people.
Now you may be asking the infamous “So What?” The point is there will be times when the adversary is bearing us down. There are times in all of our lives when Satan is keeping us from our greater mission. However, if we keep pushing, keep trying and keep moving forward we will get to our greater mission( and maybe even save millions:).   Jeffrey R. Holland once said,  “Don’t you give up. Don’t you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is hope and happiness ahead. It will be alright in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come.”

Will you keep going even when you feel like the whole world is against you? Because If you DO choose to keep moving forward there will be great rewards and great blessings ahead! Just like Kate discovered.

First Official Post! (yeah)

Finally! My first official blog post!!! Welcome!
I know that there are times in our day when the craziness of life are just too much. I often get bogged down with assignments, tests to study for, errands, things that NEED to be cleaned, eating (I mean let’s be honest, sometimes life is too busy for food), and work. I have frequently found myself thinking “Why does this matter?,  How does me running to Shopko for some notebooks really matter in the grand scheme of life?,  Why am I bending over backwards to pick up my brothers from their activities”?  Or I find myself asking the  ultimate question “How do the things that I have to do today really help me get to heaven”? My goal for this blog is to provide a moment of peace in your day. I want to help all of us from feeling like what we are doing doesn’t matter. The things we do in our individual lives matter, WE MATTER!  To answer some of my own questions, I am going to Shopko to pick up notebooks so that I can take notes for my sociology class. I am taking my sociology class because it is required to advance my learning and I believe that everything we learn we take with us when we die.  I am bending over backwards to pick up my brothers because I love them and it’s what the savior would do. Purchasing  notebooks and picking up my brothers will help me get to heaven because learning will allow me to become a better person, and picking my brothers shows christlike love.
So when you feel bogged down with a never-ending list of things to do take a minute to visit my blog! I promise you WILL get a Minute of Calm and it will be just enough to get you through!

Until next time!
